This week’s Skincare Sunday is about the company OY-L. This company sent me some skincare products to try and I was very interested in working with them mainly because their motto is chemical free skincare. I have been very cautious lately of what skincare products I use since my skin is getting more sensitive as I age. When this company contacted me to do a collaboration, I was very excited to learn that all of their products are 100% natural. They even have a page on their website that lists all of the ingredients they have ever used in a product, how cool is that!? This is because the founder of the company is adamant on a “beauty without secrets” policy. She believes everyone should know exactly what they are putting on their skin, and I completely agree. I was sent their Face Wash, Hydrating Facial Mist and their Manuka Latte Lip Balm to review and here is what I think:
Some ingredients include: manuka honey, hemp seed oil, coconut oil, vitamin e and essential oils
The first thing I noticed when I used OY-L’s face wash is how my skin didn’t flare up after using it. With most face washes, my skin tends to flare up due to the harsh chemicals in them. This is also because of the manuka honey in it, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Thanks to all of the different oils in the face wash, my skin felt soft and moisturized. Comparatively, other face washes leave my skin feeling very dry until I apply face lotion. I felt as if I didn’t even need to apply moisturizer after washing my face because my face already felt so hydrated. (I did, though, because an SPF lotion during the summer is highly important!). I’ve been using this face wash for almost three weeks now and I highly recommend it to those of you who are interested in natural skincare like me. It really does work, and makes your skin feel so clean and refreshed!
Some ingredients include: rose hydrosol, aloe vera juice, witch hazel and essential oils
I use this product before I put make up on for a dewy look, before I go to bed for a calming effect or at the beach or pool to cool off. I actually had a really bad sunburn last week and would spray this on my face and body before bed and it felt amazing on my burn, I’m assuming because of the aloe vera juice. I also love the smell of this product, it smells just like roses. I’ve gotten into facial mists this summer just because they really do keep my skin hydrated during these hot summer days. This one, along with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, are definitely my favorites. I carry this one around with me everywhere I go for when I need a quick refresh!
Some ingredients include: coffee butter, castor oil, beeswax, manuka honey and vitamin e
The obvious reason I love this lip balm is because it tasted just like coffee! I’m not a huge fan of flavored lip balms, I usually stick to peppermint, but the coffee flavor in this balm is nice and subtle. I put this on my lips before bed especially after I’ve been in the sun all day so my lips don’t get chapped. I wake up with smooth lips every morning and it’s all thanks to this balm. During the day I use a lip balm with SPF because of the sun. Since this lip balm lacks the SPF required for summer, I definitely recommend using this lip balm at night before bed. For all those coffee lovers out there, this is a must-have for you!
I could not be more thankful to OY-L for giving me the opportunity to review their products. I love all of the ones I was sent, and am looking into trying out some more! I currently have my eye on their Exfoliating Manuka Mask, their Body Butter, and their Pink Grapefruit Bath Salts (so perfect for summer!). If you’re interested in checking out their story (actually very interesting) you can check it out here! They’ve definitely changed the game when it comes to skincare, and I’m super thankful for that!
