For Halloween weekend a couple weeks ago, I went to Maine with three of my girlfriends to visit my bestie who goes to University of Maine. Unfortunately, it rained a bit that weekend but the foliage was still so beautiful and the weekend was so much fun! My best friend from college and I dressed up as Blaire and Serena from Gossip Girl because we’re that obsessed with the show (as well as we didn’t have to go out and buy costumes because we already had all of the pieces!)
Below I share with you some of my pictures and details from the trip and of course all of my outfit details from the outfit pictured above!
^^ We had SO much fun dressing as the main characters from Gossip Girl, we’re both so obsessed with the show we knew we just had to!
^^ The morning we arrived we went to The Nest cafe which had just opened up that morning! I was in love with the cool aesthetic of the place and not to mention their delicious bakery items and drinks.
^^ The scenery in Maine is absolutely breathtaking. We went up at the perfect time to see all of the beautiful yellow, red and orange leaves. We went to a little apple orchard called Treworgy Orchards and drank some hot cider and ate some cider donuts and snapped a few pictures. It was definitely a perfect New England weekend.
But enough about my trip details, lets get to my outfit details shall we?
Scarf: Nordstrom (similar here and get 20% off with code: beautifullyclassicblog20) // Dress: Marshall’s (similar Lulu’s) // Vest: JCrew (sold out in blue but available in green and 25% off with code warmstyle) // Boots: Madden Girl (only $70!)
Y’all already know how I feel about my JCrew vest and OTK boots from my JCrew Style post, so I’m going to focus this one more on super cute sweater dress and my blanket scarf that I can’t live without! This dress was only $17 at Marshall’s and it is so incredibly perfect for fall. What I really love about it is the length, I’m not one to wear super short dresses and sometimes it’s hard to find a swing dress that isn’t too short or too long. This one is perfect to show a little leg while still staying warm. I wear a size small for reference.
As for my blanket scarf, I am beyond obsessed! The blanket scarf has seriously become my go-to fall accessory and I just received a new one from Ilymix that I can’t wait to show you! They really are just the most useful things too, in fact I just used mine as an actual blanket while watching a friend’s rugby game yesterday and it really did keep me warm! I’m definitely going to have to work on expanding my collection because the weather is getting so much colder.
I hope you all had as much fun as I did for Halloween weekend! I’ll be sharing with you my trip to New Hampshire for the long weekend soon, as soon as I recover ha!
