1. Eat Vegetables With Every Meal
Your mother always said “eat your vegetables” for a reason! Veggies are the key to weight loss in so many ways, and while they may not be the best tasting food on the block, they definitely have the most benefit. They’re filled with vitamins and minerals that your body needs and are so few calories. I like to put a handful of kale in with my breakfast smoothie or sautée some spinach, tomato, and onions with my eggs. There’s so many endless possibilities, so experiment and find what works for you!
2. Stay Hydrated
Another tip we’ve all heard before, but it really is an important one. Start your day with a cup of green tea to jumpstart your metabolism and give you those morning antioxidants. Throughout the day sip on cold water with lemon and strawberries, the fruit gives boring old water a boost and the lemon especially helps rid your body of toxins and keeps you from getting bloated.
3. Swap This For That
There are so many foods that we don’t even think about being problem foods when really, they are doing us more harm than good. Surprisingly though, swapping these problem foods out for healthier options is easier than you think. Rather than a full bowl of pasta, substitute the pasta for quinoa which is much higher in protein and lower in carbs. Substitute dairy milk for almond milk which is lower in fat. Swap bread and peanut butter for a rice cake with peanut butter. Making these simple switches can help you cut back on the calories and bad fats and enjoy more of the protein and good fats.
