I was planning on doing this post at the beginning of the month, but figured it would be better to do it at the end. It was so hard to pick my favorites this month with all of the new trends, but I finally narrowed it down to my Top Ten and I’m so excited to share them with you all!
1. Off The Shoulder Tops
I have been beyond obsessed with off the shoulder tops lately. While it’s definitely something you would wear in warmer weather, spring is (hopefully) right around the corner! I just think these tops are really fun and are definitely a comfortable piece that can still be worn on special occasions like a date. I love this look with the ruffles, this one with the fun orange print, and the one below that’s just plain black, but still super stylish!
Taking a page out of the fashion handbook of Kendall Jenner, I have this new found love for sneakers. Between the sporty look of Nikes, the stylish look of Adidas, and the laid back look of Vans or All Stars, there is a pair of sneakers for any outfit. I love the look of all black nikes or black with a hint of white, I wear my black and white nikes with leggings and a leather jacket when I feel like dressing down or know I have a day full of walking ahead of me. On the contrary, I’m obsessed with the look of the Adidas Originals Superstar Leather Sneakers. While these are still pretty casual, you can definitely wear this style sneaker with something a bit more dressy, as shown by Kendall below (a look alike of hers can be found here) . Between high-tops, slip-ons, and the authentic skater shoe, Vans sneakers have always been a favorite of mine. I love the summer pastels, like these light blue/green ones, as well as the old school 80’s look.
3. Short Hair
So many celebrities have been chopping their locks and opting for a shorter do’, and I personally think it’s fantastic! Between Khloe Kardashian, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lawrence, I’m starting to think about making the cut. While many people think short hair is hard to style due to the lack of hair to work with, products like Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray to keep your hair bouncy, or a smoothing serum to keep your strands sleek, make it totally manageable to still create the look you want.
It seems that this 90’s style is making a comeback, and I’m not really surprised. I feel like chokers back than were the ultimate symbol of cool. Major celebs such as Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora, and Behati Prinsloo (the ultimate cool chick) have all been spotted sporting these. They tend to be found on more of the boho chic websites such as Urban Outfitters, but I think with the right outfit, anyone can pull them off. I also like the metal ones, like this one here.
I have to give credit for this favorite to The Style Hunt Blog. I saw her post about the Rebecca Minkoff Tassel Collection and fell in love. I especially love the use of tassels on high-heeled sandals like these Ulla Johnson ones or on flat-heeled sandals like these ones (which are on sale now for $35!). I feel like they add a texture change to an item and make an outfit pop.
6. Fab Workout Gear
I feel like since I already mentioned sneakers, and since I’ve been on such a gym high lately, I though workout gear would be an appropriate favorite. Not only is Fabletics a great place to find stylish workout gear, I also find some stuff at great prices all over the place. As far as leggings are concerned, I love these Adidas ones (the print is so cool), but you can’t beat the price of these Old Navy ones either! I love buying super colorful sports bras, so this Onzie Graphic Sports Bra definitely fits the bill. I’ve also been looking for a jacket that I can wear to my early morning sessions when it’s cold outside. I found this Fila one for $20 and it’s perfect for what I need it for.
7. Ankle Jeans
I was so stoked when Abercrombie & Fitch came out with ankle jeans. They’re just jeans that stop right above the ankle, helping show off a great pair of shoes. I love to wear my black ankle jeans with my low-heeled ankle boots.
I have been redoing my bedroom and it seems that all I want is copper on every surface. Whether it’s a copper clock on the wall, copper hangers in my closet, or a copper dish for my bedside table, I think it’s so chic. I love these copper lights to hang around my ceiling over my desk, or this Jewelry Storage Collection from Anthropologie. It looks so polished and chic with all black furniture.
9. Backless with Lace Detail
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there is definitely a need of outfits full of sex appeal. What’s more sexy than a backless dress with lace detail? Nothing. This one from Romwe is only $3o and so pretty! While this one from Lulu’s is a bit more risqué. Whether you decide to go with pretty or risqué, backless lace is the way to go!
10. Peony Scented Candle
For my final item I decided to put a long time favorite. I love the scent of fresh cut peonies, and Henri Bendel has a candle that turns my room into a field of fresh cut peonies when lit. This H&M Peony Candle comes in a really pretty casing and with a really low price tag. I’m telling you, peony scented candles are such a game changer!
