After taking a look at this month’s Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, I have become quite fond of lists. So I have decided to share a list of my monthly favorites with you all, the first one being December, which is actually quite exciting because December is definitely the most exciting month of the year. So without further ado, here is my December Favorite’s list.
1. Moto Jackets
I’m obsessed with leather jackets. The great thing is, they give an edgy look to any outfit. I even where them with my spandex leggings and sneakers a la Gigi Hadid. You can find leather jackets anywhere but my personal favorites you can find here and here.
2. Pressed Juices
I’ve never really been into the whole juice cleanse thing, they’re actually very unhealthy for you, but adding a cold pressed juice to your daily diet can’t hurt. I don’t believe in paying hundreds of dollars to get pressed juices shipped to my door, but luckily Suja Juice can be found at Walmart or Target for a low price. They’re a nice pick-me-up after a gym session or when you don’t have a lot of time for breakfast or lunch.
3. Maybelline Matte Lipsticks
I’ve never been huge on matte lipsticks, but these have definitely changed my mind. I’m obsessed with these Maybelline lipsticks. Unfortunately they aren’t very long wearing and do require a reapply, but the colors are to die for. My favorite colors are nude nuance and burgundy blush.
4. Low-Heeled Boo
If you were to ask my friends about high heels and I, they would all say that I am terrible at walking in them! Which is unfortunately true, but I have found that low-heeled booties are my savior. They are super stylish and so easy to walk in. You can also pair them with virtually anything and they are great when you have a long day of walking ahead of you. My favorites are Steve Madden and Sam Edelman.
5. The Victoria’s Secret Ice Angel’s Collection
For a limited time, Victoria’s Secret has a bra called the “Ice Angel” which will be promoted on the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. These bras ooze romanticism with white lace and intricate silver details. But hurry up and order, because I can guarantee as soon as this design airs on TV December 8th, they’ll be all gone!
6. Bronzer & Highlighter
I’m always trying to find new ways to take my makeup routine to the next level. With contouring being so big right now, I’ve been experimenting with bronzer and highlighter. Highlighter is great for the winter because it gives your skin that glowing, dewy look while bronzer gives you that warm color. The highlighter I use now is Sephora brand and it works so well! I have the champagne color and while the bottle is small, a little goes a long way so it’ll last you. The bronzer I use is Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color but I also like is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer.
7. Frends With Benefits “Taylor” Headphones
These headphones are so chic. I love the rose gold accents which make them look so feminine. While they’re on the pricey side, they would make a great Christmas gift!
Or as my boyfriend likes to call them, Grandma shoes. I not only love loafers because they are so in style at the moment, but because they are extremely comfy and classic looking. Let’s be honest, loafers are like blazers, they’re never going out of style. My Grandma’s been wearing them since the 40’s and she’s still rockin’ em today! (So maybe they are a little on the grandma side, but I promise they’re trendy.) My favorite loafers are from G&H Bass Co. I have a burgundy pair as well as a light blue pair for summer!
9. Hair Oils
Ever since I got my locks chopped back in November, I’ve been a stickler about making sure my ends are hydrated and healthy. I’ve always been hesitant to use hair oils because I don’t want my hair to be greasy, but with my new do’ and the change of seasons coming, I was determined to find a hair oil that would hydrate my hair without leaving a greasy residue. The Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil was just the ticket; bonus: it’s inexpensive too! I use it every time I get out of the shower and it keeps my hair looking so shiny and healthy without a split end in sight.
Yes I know, I’m as surprised as you to learn that turtlenecks are making a comeback, but indeed they are. I was inspired by turtlenecks last spring when Gucci did a 70’s inspired collection, complete with denim platform heels and lots of suede. The 70’s inspiration caught on like wildfire. My personal favorite 70’s look is a suede skirt, turtleneck shirt (or a buttoned down chambray shirt) and my low-heeled booties.
What are your favorites from December? I can’t wait to share my January favorites in the upcoming new year!
